ANXIETY AND STRESS

Stress is the body's reaction to feeling threatened or under pressure. A small amount of stress is normal and can motivate us to achieve the things we need to do in our daily lives, helping us meet the demands of home, work and family life. It is when stress becomes chronic or overwhelming that it can be very detrimental to our physical and mental wellbeing.

Sometimes the way we choose to cope with our stress, through over-eating, increased alcohol consumption or smoking for example, can actually make the problem worse rather than helping.
